1971 European Tour Program

To me these days, it seems like tour programs are almost a lost art. Odds are that any current ones you find for sale at venue merchandise stands today are by legacy artists like Paul McCartney or Rolling Stones.

With just about everything going digital or virtual, I'm sure the cost of printing them runs a lot more expensive today than back in the classic rock era. But for those who love physical media, these books are a great memento from the shows.

Tour programs usually feature a series of photos, some advertising (usually tour sponsors), tour personnel information, and of course, tour dates! Many times over the years, I personally have bought a program instead of a t-shirt at show.

Some of the coolest Band collectibles out there are the tour programs.  In this post, I'd like to highlight one which was sold on their 1971 European Tour. Featuring artwork created from one of the iconic Elliot Landy shots of The Band, this particular copy was bought from Royal Albert Hall!

This book is 12 pages, including the front and back covers and measures 11.5" x 8.25"inches, all in black and white matte finish paper.

The tour was presented by SBA, which was the Scandinavian Booking Agency.

On average, vintage Band tour program prices range from $30 - $100 (US dollars), depending on age, condition, and rarity.
