Levon & The Hawks concert ads!

 Inspired by where I'm at chapter-wise reading Stephen T. Lewis' book about Richard Manuel, thought it would be fun to post some old ads from when the boys became "Levon & The Hawks." 

 

Some 1982 Dankobase dates added/updated

 Did you know that Rick played a gig with John Stewart at The Bijou Cafe in Philly, 1982?  Found this show and a few others from that year which are now added to Dankobase.  It's amazing that the more I dig, the more I keep finding additional dates.  That's why I like to tell folks this is definitely a work-in-progress.  Some larger gaps in gig dates reflect when The Band was on the road.  

Subscribing to Posts - doesn't work!!

 Took me a bit to realize the Subscribe to Posts button DOES NOT WORK!  Apparently Blogger did a way with it.  I'm probably going to be moving my site to a better/different host at some point.  I like the simplicity of Blogger though.  We'll see.

The Richard book has arrived!

 So excited to receive my copy of the Richard Manuel biography by Stephen T. Lewis! Can't wait to dive in. Have you ordered your copy yet? Hoping to do a video discussion on this book with a Band colleague of mine soon.

Another date added to historical Dankobase!

 Wow, look at this 1979 concert ad!  Waylon Jennings, J.J Cale, Rick Danko & Paul Butterfield.  Where is that time machine?

 Just when you think you MIGHT have most of the Rick Danko tour dates, you find more!  It's amazing. I've said it before, but I will say it again, he had such a prolific touring career outside of The Band. 

These couple of "new" dates added are from end of 1998 and beginning of 1999 from Levon Helm's Classic American Cafe in New Orleans, and come courtesy of the great Butch Dener!
